Tasting Notes

This Okayama craft gin was created at the Miyashita Shuzo distillery. Over a dozen botanicals were used in its production, including juniper and coriander, before it was finished in a cask that had previously held shochu. This is a rare and unique gin that is only available in Japan. If you love gin, you won’t be disappointed with this one.

1. What is Gin?

Gin is a distilled alcoholic drink that derives its predominant flavour from juniper berries. Gin today is produced in different ways from a wide range of herbal ingredients, giving rise to a number of distinct styles and brands. After juniper, gin tends to be flavoured with botanical/herbal, spice, floral or fruit flavours or often a combination. It is most commonly consumed mixed with tonic water.
