Tasting Notes
Very deep, intense, dark cherry red, with a garnet rim. Clean. Penetrating nose with aromas of stewed dark fruit, hints of underbrush, aniseed, and spices underscored by notes of buns, coffee beans, toffee, mocha and black liquorice. Outstandingly wide structure in the mouth, with food balance content between acidity and alcohol mature and elegant tannins providing a powerful yet friendly mouthfeel. Big finish, with notes of black liquorice, fruit compote, and toffee.
Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Spain.
1. What is wine?
Wine is an alcoholic drink typically made from fermented grapes. Yeast consumes the sugar in the grapes and converts it to ethanol, carbon dioxide and heat. Different varieties of grapes and strains of yeasts are major factors in different styles of wine.
2. What is Red Wine?
Red wine is a type of wine made from dark-colored grape varieties. The actual color of the wine can range from intense violet, typical of young wines, through to brick red for mature wines and brown for older red wines.
3. What is White Wine?
White wine is a wine that is fermented without skin contact. It is produced by the alcoholic fermentation of the non-colored pulp of grapes, which may have a skin of any color.
4. What is Rose Wine?
Rosé is a type of wine made from red wine grapes, produced in a similar manner to red wine, but with reduced time fermenting with grape skins. This reduced skin contact gives rosé a pink hue and lighter flavor than that of red wine.
5. What is Sparkling Wine?
Sparkling wine is a type of wine with high carbon dioxide levels, which makes it fizzy. The bubbles result from natural fermentation that occurs either in the bottle or in a large tank.
